Definition: Many of our "other red wines" are blends outside of the typical Rhone blends and Bordeaux blends that are so popular. A few blends that fall into this category include:
Australian blends - Usually Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon
Tuscan blends - Super Tuscans are often blends of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah or others.
Some of the red single varietals making excellent, but small volume wines in Monterey, include: Cabernet Franc, Petite Sirah, Malbec, Zinfandel and Tannat.
